India’s wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2026 following his match-winning performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Samson played a decisive role in India’s title-winning campaign, delivering crucial knocks in the knockout stages.
The 31-year-old was also adjudged Player of the Tournament at the T20 World Cup after producing three consecutive clutch innings, including a match-winning knock in the virtual quarter-final against the West Indies in Kolkata, followed by standout performances in the semi-final and final.
Samson won the monthly award ahead of Indian teammate Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Connor Esterhuizen. His consistency and ability to perform under pressure were highlighted as key factors in India’s World Cup triumph.
Speaking on the honour, Samson said winning the ICC Player of the Month award was an incredible feeling, especially during what he described as the most unforgettable phase of his cricketing journey. He expressed gratitude to his teammates and supporters, noting that this recognition reflects the exciting era of Indian cricket with immense talent across the board.
Alongside Samson, New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr was named ICC Women’s Player of the Month for March, securing her third such award after stellar all-round displays in both ODIs and T20Is.
