The Indian Navy commissioned INS Malvan, a state-of-the-art warship, into active service during a ceremony attended by senior naval officials and defence dignitaries. The induction of the vessel marks another significant milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen its maritime capabilities and enhance coastal security.
Equipped with advanced navigation, surveillance, and combat systems, INS Malvan is designed to undertake a wide range of operations, including coastal patrol, maritime surveillance, search and rescue missions, and protection of strategic maritime assets. The vessel will play a vital role in safeguarding India’s vast coastline and maritime interests.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, senior officials highlighted the Navy’s continued focus on modernisation and self-reliance in defence manufacturing. They said the induction of INS Malvan reflects India’s growing indigenous shipbuilding capabilities under the government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
