IGP Kashmir Reviews Security, Directs Officers to Thwart Attempts Aimed at Disturbing Peace, Targeting Civilians
Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir reviewed the prevailing security situation and directed officers to maintain heightened vigilance to prevent any attempt aimed at disturbing peace and targeting civilians.
During the security review, the IGP stressed the need for close monitoring of the situation on the ground and called upon officers to identify and neutralise threats before they could disrupt normal life. The directions came with an emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of the public.
Officers were asked to strengthen coordination among different security and law-enforcement agencies and ensure timely sharing of intelligence and information. The IGP also stressed the importance of proactive policing and effective deployment of resources in vulnerable and sensitive areas.
The security review also focused on strengthening the existing security grid and improving response mechanisms to deal with any emerging threat. Officers were directed to remain alert and take preventive measures to ensure that attempts to disturb peace and tranquillity are thwarted at an early stage.
Emphasising the importance of protecting civilians, the IGP directed officers to ensure the highest standards of public safety and maintain close contact with communities. Security agencies have also been asked to remain vigilant against activities that could disrupt normal life or create fear among residents.
The police leadership stressed that sustained coordination, credible intelligence inputs and prompt action would remain central to maintaining peace and stability in the Kashmir Valley.
The IGP further called upon officers to perform their duties professionally and impartially while ensuring strict action against violations of law. The security apparatus will continue to closely monitor developments and take necessary preventive measures to safeguard public safety and maintain peace.
The review comes amid continued efforts by security agencies to strengthen the security environment across Kashmir and prevent attempts to disrupt peace or threaten civilians.
