In a show of unmatched precision and strategic clarity, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, marking one of the most significant anti-terror responses since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.
Triggered by the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives in Jammu and Kashmir, this operation targeted the nerve center of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)—the Usman-o-Ali campus in Bahawalpur, a city long known to be a hub for terror training and radicalization.
At 1:44 AM, Indian Air Force jets carried out surgical missile strikes on nine identified terror facilities across Pakistan and PoK, including Muridke, Sialkot, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad. The attacks, executed with intelligence-based precision, resulted in the elimination of over 80 terrorists, including masterminds behind multiple attacks on Indian soil.
Bahawalpur’s targeted complex had functioned as a fully operational training facility since 2011, allegedly with covert support from Pakistan’s ISI, due to its strategic proximity to a major military cantonment.
Intelligence inputs ensured that the operation avoided civilian zones entirely, reinforcing India’s commitment to minimizing collateral damage. International observers, including BBC, reported the strikes as precise and non-escalatory, noting that no Pakistani military installations were targeted—a deliberate move by India to maintain strategic restraint.
The strikes struck at the heart of JeM’s infrastructure, dealing a crippling blow to its logistics, leadership, and morale, while sending a clear signal: India will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism.
Operation Sindoor redefined the rules of engagement, showcasing India’s evolved strategy—swift, targeted, intelligence-driven, and diplomatically calculated.
