President Droupadi Murmu will confer the Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on the occasion of Veer Baal Diwas in New Delhi today, honouring children for their exceptional achievements in diverse fields.
The Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is the highest civilian honour for children in India, awarded annually to recognise outstanding contributions in categories such as innovation, scholastic performance, sports, arts and culture, social service, and bravery.
Each awardee receives a medal, a certificate, and a cash prize, symbolising national recognition of their talent, courage, and service. The Ministry of Women and Child Development oversees the selection process, ensuring transparency and merit-based recognition.
Veer Baal Diwas is observed every year on December 26 to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who sacrificed their lives defending their faith and principles. The day serves as a reminder of courage, sacrifice, and resilience.
In her address, President Murmu is expected to highlight the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging children to contribute positively to society. She will also interact with the awardees and acknowledge their achievements.
Union ministers, senior officials, and dignitaries are attending the ceremony, which underscores the government’s commitment to empowering children and celebrating their role in nation-building.
The PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar not only honours individual excellence but also inspires millions of children across India to pursue their dreams with determination and uphold values of innovation, service, and bravery.
