Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that India has set a national goal of achieving a Drug-Free India by 2047, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that this vision aligns with the broader mission of building a developed and resilient nation by the centenary of independence.
Shah highlighted that the government is intensifying its crackdown on narcotics networks, strengthening border vigilance, and enhancing coordination among enforcement agencies. He noted that the fight against drugs is not only a law enforcement challenge but also a social movement requiring awareness, rehabilitation, and youth participation.
According to Shah, the roadmap includes stricter laws, advanced surveillance systems, and community-driven initiatives to eliminate the menace of drugs from society. He urged citizens, especially the younger generation, to join hands in realizing the vision of a healthier, stronger India.
