New Delhi, November 6, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated India’s leading cooperatives, Amul and IFFCO, for securing top positions in the International Cooperative Alliance’s (ICA) Global Rankings, recognizing their outstanding contributions to cooperative development and economic empowerment.
In a statement shared on social media, PM Modi praised both organizations for exemplifying the strength of India’s cooperative movement. He highlighted their role in supporting farmers, enhancing food security, and promoting inclusive growth across rural and urban sectors.
Amul, known for its dairy innovation and grassroots network, and IFFCO, a major player in fertilizer production and distribution, were ranked among the world’s most impactful cooperatives based on turnover, membership, and social impact.
The Prime Minister emphasized that their global recognition reflects India’s commitment to self-reliance and cooperative excellence, and serves as an inspiration for other sectors to adopt community-driven models of development.
