A high-level delegation of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is scheduled to visit Kolkata to review the progress of the Special Summary Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The visit is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure accuracy, transparency, and inclusivity in the voter registration process ahead of upcoming elections.
Officials stated that the delegation will hold meetings with state election authorities and district officials to assess the implementation of guidelines issued by the Commission. The review will focus on the pace of voter enrollment, deletion of duplicate entries, and inclusion of newly eligible voters.
The Election Commission has emphasized that the Special Summary Revision is a critical exercise to strengthen the integrity of electoral rolls.
