Deepti Sharma became the first Indian cricketer — across both men’s and women’s formats — to reach the milestone of 150 wickets in T20 Internationals. Her record-breaking spell of 3 for 18 against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram lifted her tally to 333 international wickets, surpassing Australian legend Ellyse Perry’s 331.
She is now the third-highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket, behind only Jhulan Goswami (355) and England’s Katherine Sciver-Brunt (335). In T20Is, Deepti equalled Australia’s Megan Schutt with 151 scalps, making her the joint-highest wicket-taker in the format.
Adding to her achievements, Deepti became the first cricketer in the world to record both 1,000 runs and 150 wickets in T20 Internationals. She has scored 1,100 runs at an average of 23.40, underlining her value as a genuine all-rounder.
Her ODI record is equally impressive, with 162 wickets, making her India’s second-highest wicket-taker after Jhulan Goswami. In Tests, she has 20 wickets from five matches, further showcasing her versatility across formats.
Deepti’s landmark achievements reflect her consistency, skill, and contribution to Indian cricket, inspiring the next generation of players while strengthening India’s dominance in the women’s game.
