New Delhi, May 29: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has revoked Stage-I restrictions of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across the National Capital Region (NCR) following a marked improvement in Delhi’s air quality. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has remained in the ‘satisfactory’ to ‘moderate’ category over the past few days, prompting the withdrawal of curbs.
Officials confirmed that measures such as restrictions on construction activities, use of diesel generators, and enhanced road dust control under Stage-I will no longer be in force. The revocation is expected to ease operations for industries and commuters while maintaining vigilance on pollution levels.
The CAQM emphasized that the decision was taken after careful monitoring of meteorological conditions and pollution trends. Authorities assured that enforcement teams will continue to keep a close watch, and GRAP measures can be re-imposed if air quality deteriorates.
