Officials confirmed that the fishermen had been stranded in Iran due to escalating tensions in the region. Arrangements were made to facilitate their travel through Armenia, where they were received and assisted before onward movement to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that safeguarding the lives of Indian nationals abroad remains a top priority. Diplomatic channels were actively engaged to secure safe transit amid the volatile situation.
The return of the fishermen comes as India continues to monitor developments in West Asia, particularly in light of rising hostilities that pose risks to regional stability and the safety of expatriates.
