Health Minister J. P. Nadda today reviewed India’s preparedness against Ebola and confirmed that no case has been reported in the country so far.
Chairing a high-level meeting with senior health officials, Nadda emphasized that India remains vigilant and proactive in monitoring global developments related to the Ebola virus. He directed authorities to strengthen surveillance at airports, seaports, and border points to ensure early detection and response.
The Health Minister highlighted that isolation facilities, diagnostic labs, and rapid response teams have been kept on standby to deal with any potential emergency. He also stressed the importance of coordination between central and state health agencies to maintain readiness.
Nadda assured the public that India’s health system is prepared to handle any eventuality, with protocols in place for screening, quarantine, and treatment. He urged citizens not to panic and reiterated that preventive measures and awareness are key to safeguarding against infectious diseases.
Officials noted that India continues to work closely with the World Health Organization and international partners to track the situation and adopt best practices for preparedness and response.
