The Government of India has issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals to leave Iran immediately, citing escalating regional tensions and security risks.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that the situation in Iran has become increasingly volatile due to ongoing conflict and instability in the Gulf region, making it unsafe for Indian citizens to remain.
Officials emphasized that Indian nationals currently in Iran should make arrangements to return at the earliest opportunity, while those planning travel to the country have been strongly advised to defer their plans.
The advisory follows reports of heightened military activity and restrictions on civilian movement, raising concerns about the safety of foreign nationals.
Indian missions in Tehran and other cities are coordinating with local authorities to facilitate the safe departure of citizens and provide necessary assistance.
The MEA has urged Indian nationals to remain in close contact with the Embassy and Consulate, register themselves on the official portal, and follow updates issued through verified government channels.
Authorities reiterated that the advisory is part of India’s broader effort to safeguard its citizens abroad amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
