New Delhi: A nationwide cleanliness drive was carried out under the **Swachhata Hi Seva 2026** campaign, with people across the country taking part in activities aimed at promoting cleanliness, sanitation and civic responsibility.
The campaign saw participation from government departments, educational institutions, local organisations, community groups and citizens. Cleanliness activities were organised at public places, roadsides, institutional premises and other community areas, where participants helped remove waste and improve their surroundings.
Along with the cleanliness activities, awareness programmes were also held to encourage responsible waste disposal and better sanitation practices. Participants highlighted the importance of keeping public spaces clean and urged citizens to make cleanliness a regular part of their daily lives.
The initiative also sought to strengthen community participation and encourage people to take greater responsibility for the areas in which they live and work. Students and young volunteers were among those taking part in several activities, helping spread the message of cleanliness among their communities.
The **Swachhata Hi Seva 2026** campaign continues to emphasise that maintaining clean surroundings is a shared responsibility. Organisers encouraged citizens to contribute through simple, consistent efforts and to support cleaner and healthier communities across the country.
