New Delhi, July 1: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) has significantly strengthened the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat over the past nine years, fostering economic unity and seamless trade across states. Officials highlighted that GST has simplified indirect taxation, reduced cascading effects, and promoted transparency in revenue collection.
By harmonizing tax structures nationwide, GST has enabled smoother interstate commerce and boosted cooperative federalism. The reform has also enhanced compliance, widened the tax base, and supported infrastructure development through increased revenue mobilization.
Authorities emphasized that GST has become a cornerstone of India’s economic transformation, aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by ensuring equitable growth and strengthening the country’s fiscal framework.
