Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari reviewed the progress of Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) and ropeway projects across the country, stressing their importance in reducing logistics costs and enhancing connectivity. He highlighted that MMLPs will serve as integrated hubs for freight movement, combining road, rail, air, and waterways to streamline supply chains and boost economic efficiency.
During the review, Gadkari emphasized the need for expediting construction timelines and adopting modern technology to ensure world-class infrastructure. He noted that ropeway projects, particularly in hilly and difficult terrains, will provide safe, eco-friendly, and cost-effective transport solutions for both passengers and cargo. These projects are expected to improve accessibility in remote regions and promote tourism alongside economic growth.
The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable development, urging officials to prioritize green technologies and renewable energy in project execution. He also called for close coordination between central agencies, state governments, and private stakeholders to accelerate implementation and maximize benefits for citizens.
