New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has reopened Lal Qila station after a temporary shutdown imposed in the aftermath of the recent blast near the historic Red Fort. Services on the Violet Line, which were suspended for security checks and investigations, resumed today with tightened safety protocols in place.
Authorities confirmed that the closure was precautionary, aimed at facilitating forensic teams and ensuring commuter safety. Security personnel have been deployed in greater numbers across the station premises, with baggage screening and passenger checks intensified.
The Red Fort blast, which shook the capital earlier this week, prompted widespread concern and heightened vigilance across sensitive zones. Officials stated that while investigations are ongoing, metro services have been restored to minimize disruption for daily commuters.
