Security forces achieved a significant breakthrough in anti-Maoist operations with the neutralisation of six Maoists during an encounter in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. The operation was carried out in a forested area following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of armed cadres.
Officials confirmed that the encounter involved a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Heavy exchange of fire ensued, leading to the elimination of six Maoists. Arms, ammunition, and other materials were recovered from the site.
