The Ministry of Civil Aviation has said that around 444 flights are expected to be cancelled today due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, which have led to airspace restrictions and operational disruptions across parts of the Middle East.
The ministry noted that the situation has forced airlines to cancel and divert several services in the interest of passenger safety. A large number of flights were also cancelled a day earlier as airlines adjusted routes to avoid affected airspace.
Airport authorities and airlines have been placed on alert to manage the disruptions and assist passengers. Travellers have been advised to check the status of their flights with airlines before heading to airports.
The civil aviation authorities said they are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with airlines to minimise inconvenience as long as regional tensions remain high.
