Srinagar, November 20 — Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister expressed concern that Kashmiris are increasingly being viewed with suspicion in the national capital. He said that even he hesitates to drive his own car in Delhi, fearing unnecessary questioning due to the prevailing atmosphere of mistrust.
The Chief Minister noted that the stereotyping of Kashmiris has created fear among families, with many parents reluctant to send their children outside the Valley for education. He stressed that the actions of a few individuals should not lead to the demonisation of an entire community.
Referring to recent incidents of violence, including the Delhi blast, the CM said promises of peace after 2019 have not materialised. He criticised the Centre and the LG administration, stating that stripping Jammu & Kashmir of its special status and statehood has not ended bloodshed, and those responsible for security must answer for the current situation.
The Chief Minister urged for a more inclusive approach to restore trust and ensure safety for all communities, emphasising that Kashmiris deserve equal dignity and freedom of movement across the country.
