Lucknow, Jun 24: In the wake of the tragic coaching centre fire that claimed multiple lives in the city, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a special drive against illegal coaching centres across the state. The move aims to enforce strict compliance with fire safety and building regulations.
Officials confirmed that district administrations have been directed to identify and seal coaching centres operating without valid licenses, fire safety clearances, or proper infrastructure. Surprise inspections are being carried out to ensure adherence to safety norms.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that negligence in public safety will not be tolerated, directing authorities to take swift action against violators and ensure accountability at every level.
The crackdown comes after investigations into the Lucknow fire revealed lapses in safety compliance and negligence by the management, prompting the government to initiate statewide preventive measures.
Authorities have also announced that fire safety audits will be conducted across educational institutions, with strict penalties for those failing to meet prescribed standards.
