Three Indian-origin men were killed in separate incidents across Canada within a span of one week, sparking concern among families and community members. The victims were identified as Birinder Singh, Davinder Singh, and Gurkirat Singh Manocha, with the cases reported in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
According to police reports, 22-year-old Birinder Singh was shot while driving on a highway south of Leduc, Alberta, on March 14. A day earlier, 31-year-old Davinder Singh died in a workplace shooting in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. On the same day, 25-year-old Gurkirat Singh Manocha was killed during an altercation outside Fort St. John, British Columbia.
Authorities confirmed that two of the incidents are being investigated as homicides, while one occurred during a group clash. The North District Major Crimes Unit has taken over one of the cases to determine the circumstances and possible connections.
Community members have expressed fears that the victims may have been targeted due to racial hate crimes, though police have not yet confirmed any such motive. Investigations are ongoing to establish whether the incidents were linked or isolated.
