In the aftermath of the terror attack in Anantnag, authorities have intensified their crackdown against militants and their supporters. As part of the ongoing action, the residential houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were demolished in the district.
The demolished properties belonged to identified active terrorists, Adil Thokar and Haroon Rashid Ganaie. Security agencies said the action was taken following investigations into the targeted killing of a Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable in Anantnag.
The demolition was carried out during a late-night operation involving security forces and local authorities. Officials said the move was part of a broader strategy to dismantle the support network of terror groups operating in the region.
Meanwhile, security agencies have stepped up operations across south Kashmir, carrying out searches, questioning suspects and taking preventive measures to ensure that those involved in anti-national activities are brought to justice.
The attack, which resulted in the killing of a police personnel, triggered widespread concern and prompted authorities to strengthen security arrangements across Anantnag and adjoining areas.
Officials reiterated that strict action will continue against individuals found involved in providing shelter, logistical support or assistance to terrorists, as part of efforts to maintain peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.
