Kolkata, November 5, 2025 — A delegation from the Election Commission of India (ECI) arrived in West Bengal today to review the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, aimed at ensuring accuracy and inclusivity ahead of upcoming elections.
The team, comprising senior officials from the Commission, held meetings with state election authorities, district magistrates, and booth-level officers to evaluate the implementation of revision protocols, voter registration drives, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
During the visit, the ECI emphasized the importance of updating voter lists with new enrollments, deletions, and corrections, particularly focusing on youth, women, and marginalized communities. Field inspections were conducted at select locations to assess ground-level execution and public outreach efforts.
Officials reiterated the Commission’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and participatory electoral process. Awareness campaigns, verification camps, and digital tools are being deployed to facilitate citizen engagement and streamline voter services.
The Special Revision exercise is part of the Commission’s nationwide initiative to strengthen electoral integrity and prepare for future democratic exercises with enhanced efficiency and inclusiveness.
