The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force have strengthened operational synergy through the ongoing Garuda 25 joint drills. The exercise, being conducted at Jodhpur Air Force Station, is part of the bilateral defence cooperation aimed at enhancing interoperability and tactical coordination between the two forces.
Senior officials confirmed that Garuda 25 features advanced aerial manoeuvres, joint missions, and exchange of best practices in combat operations. The drills include participation of frontline fighter aircraft, transport platforms, and force multipliers from both sides, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between India and France.
The exercise is designed to simulate complex operational scenarios, enabling pilots and ground crews to refine joint planning and execution. It also provides an opportunity to test integrated command and control systems, strengthening preparedness for multinational operations.
IAF representatives highlighted that Garuda 25 reflects India’s commitment to deepening defence ties with France, while the French Air and Space Force emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation in maintaining regional and global security.
The Garuda series of exercises, held alternately in India and France, has evolved into a cornerstone of bilateral military engagement. The 2025 edition marks a significant step forward in enhancing mutual trust, operational synergy, and shared strategic objectives.
