The Jharkhand State Housing Board has issued a notice to former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni over alleged misuse of a residential plot allotted to him in Ranchi. The board claims that the land, which was sanctioned strictly for residential purposes, has been used for commercial activities, violating the terms of allotment.
According to officials, an inquiry was conducted into the usage of the plot, and the findings revealed that the property was not being utilized in accordance with housing board regulations. Following this, a final notice has been served to Dhoni, warning that failure to comply could result in cancellation of the allotment.
The issue has drawn wider attention as similar allegations have been raised against other entities, including the state office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for converting residential plots into non-residential use. The housing board has emphasized that it is taking strict action to prevent such violations and ensure compliance with land-use policies.
Dhoni, who resides in Ranchi and is one of the most celebrated figures from Jharkhand, has not yet publicly responded to the notice.
