The India Meteorological Department has forecast that heatwave conditions will continue across North and Central India over the next few days, with maximum temperatures likely to remain above normal in states such as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha.
Meanwhile, southern regions including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana are expected to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, offering relief from rising temperatures in those areas.
Scattered showers are also likely in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, with heavy rainfall predicted in isolated pockets of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Residents in North and Central India are advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Fishermen along southern coasts have been cautioned about rough sea conditions due to strong winds and thunderstorms.
