Greater Noida: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said India has maintained a strong pace of economic growth despite uncertainty in the global economy. Addressing the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Shah highlighted India’s 7.8 per cent growth rate and said the performance reflected the strength of the country’s economy.
Shah said India has continued to move forward at a time when several major economies are facing challenges linked to geopolitical tensions, changing global trade conditions and economic uncertainty. He said the country’s growth story was being supported by increasing domestic economic activity and development across different sectors.
The minister also highlighted the changing economic and industrial landscape of Uttar Pradesh. He said the state has emerged as an important centre for investment, manufacturing, trade and infrastructure development, with new projects creating opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs.
Referring to infrastructure development in the state, Shah spoke about projects such as the Noida International Airport and the expansion of expressways and other transport networks. According to him, improved connectivity is helping strengthen the business environment and opening new avenues for investment.
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show provides a platform for manufacturers, exporters, entrepreneurs and businesses to showcase their products and explore new markets. A large number of companies and participants from different sectors are taking part in the event.
Shah said India’s economic progress was not limited to headline growth figures and pointed to the broader expansion of infrastructure, manufacturing and business activity. He also stressed the importance of strengthening India’s position in global trade and encouraging greater participation from Indian businesses in international markets.
India’s 7.8 per cent growth comes at a time of continued uncertainty in the international economic environment. The latest figures have kept attention focused on the country’s domestic demand, investment and manufacturing activity as key drivers of economic expansion.
