Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has said that India is on course to become the world’s third largest economy in the near future. He highlighted the country’s strong growth trajectory, robust reforms, and expanding global presence as key drivers of this achievement.
Speaking at a public event, Radhakrishnan noted that India has already emerged as the fastest-growing major economy and continues to attract global investment across sectors. He emphasised that the government’s focus on infrastructure, digitalisation, and manufacturing has created a foundation for sustained economic expansion.
The Vice President pointed out that initiatives such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat have strengthened domestic industries while boosting exports. He added that India’s demographic dividend and innovation in technology will further accelerate growth.
Radhakrishnan underlined that India’s rise to the position of the third largest economy will not only enhance its global standing but also contribute to inclusive development, job creation, and poverty reduction. He said the achievement will reflect the collective efforts of citizens, policymakers, and industry leaders.
The statement comes at a time when international agencies have projected India’s GDP growth to remain strong, reinforcing confidence in the country’s ability to achieve its long-term economic goals.
