Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed responsibility for missile strikes on US military installations in Jordan, including Aqaba airport and the Muwaffaq Salti (Al-Azraq) Air Base. Tehran asserted that US aircraft and hangars were destroyed, though US and Jordanian officials reported intercepting several missiles and have not confirmed the extent of damage.
According to Iranian state media, the attack targeted C-17 transport planes and P-8 surveillance aircraft, while also claiming destruction of 20 hangars at Al-Azraq. US Central Command acknowledged attempted strikes but emphasized that defenses were largely effective. Jordan’s military confirmed intercepting five missiles during the assault.
The attack resulted in casualties, with US officials confirming at least three service members killed and dozens wounded. The strikes mark a significant escalation, expanding Iran’s battlefield reach into Jordan and intensifying regional instability.
