External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has embarked on an official visit to France and Luxembourg beginning January 5, 2026, aimed at strengthening India’s strategic and economic partnerships in Europe.
During his stay in France, Dr Jaishankar is scheduled to hold meetings with senior French leadership to review bilateral cooperation in defence, trade, technology, and cultural exchanges, while also discussing regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The visit will also include engagements with the Indian diaspora in France, highlighting their role in fostering people-to-people ties and contributing to the growing partnership between the two nations.
In Luxembourg, Dr Jaishankar will meet with top government officials and business leaders to explore opportunities in financial services, investment, and innovation, reinforcing India’s outreach to the European Union’s key institutions.
The official tour underscores India’s commitment to deepening its relations with European partners, enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, and advancing shared priorities in global governance and multilateral forums.
