Srinagar, November 21 — The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered the transfer and posting of 58 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers in a major reshuffle announced on Friday. The move is aimed at strengthening governance and improving administrative efficiency across the Union Territory.
Officials said the large-scale exercise covers key departments and districts, with officers being assigned new responsibilities to streamline delivery of public services. The reshuffle is part of routine administrative adjustments undertaken to meet evolving governance needs.
The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the orders, directing the officers to assume their new postings with immediate effect. Authorities emphasised that the transfers are designed to balance experience and expertise across critical sectors.
Senior officials noted that such reshuffles are intended to enhance accountability, improve coordination, and ensure effective implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level.
The transfer list includes postings in civil secretariat, district administrations, and other important wings of the government, reflecting the administration’s focus on strengthening institutional capacity across Jammu and Kashmir.
