New Delhi, December 30, 2025: The Ministry of Railways has announced a series of measures to mitigate the impact of foggy weather on train movement across northern India. The steps are aimed at ensuring passenger safety, minimizing delays, and maintaining operational efficiency during the winter season.
Officials stated that advanced fog safety devices have been deployed in locomotives to assist drivers in low-visibility conditions. In addition, GPS-based train tracking systems are being utilized to provide real-time updates on train positions and schedules.
Railway authorities have also increased coordination with station staff and control rooms to manage train operations more effectively. Special instructions have been issued to drivers and guards to maintain safe speeds and follow enhanced signaling protocols during dense fog.
Passengers are being advised to check updated train schedules through official railway platforms, as minor delays may occur due to precautionary measures. The Ministry emphasized that safety remains the top priority while ensuring continuity of services.
The measures reflect the Railways’ commitment to passenger safety and operational resilience, particularly during challenging winter weather conditions in the northern plains.
