Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the current decade is truly “India’s Techade,” asserting that the country’s rapid progress in technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor manufacturing will benefit not just India but the entire world.
Speaking at the inauguration of major semiconductor facilities, Modi highlighted that India is emerging as a global leader in AI adoption, supported by the success of Digital India, fintech innovation, and expanding digital infrastructure.
He noted that India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem—strengthened by new manufacturing plants and the India Semiconductor Mission—will play a crucial role in powering future technologies, including AI, quantum computing, and next‑generation electronics.
Modi added that reforms in space, nuclear, and quantum sectors are positioning India as a key driver of global technological advancement, with the country’s innovations expected to contribute significantly to the planet’s digital and economic future.
