Members of Parliament from the National Conference (NC) met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation raised matters related to governance, development, and the welfare of people in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, NC MPs highlighted the need for accelerated infrastructure projects, improved employment opportunities, and measures to strengthen public services. They also conveyed concerns of local communities regarding administrative challenges and sought greater support from the Centre in addressing them.
Home Minister Amit Shah assured the delegation that the government remains committed to the progress and stability of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasised that development initiatives and welfare schemes will continue to be implemented with priority, ensuring benefits reach all sections of society.
The meeting comes at a time when political parties in Jammu and Kashmir are actively engaging with the Centre on issues of representation, regional development, and restoration of democratic processes. NC leaders described the interaction as constructive and reiterated their commitment to voicing the concerns of the people in Parliament.
