The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the immovable property of accused Shaheen Ahmad Lone in Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir in connection with an illegal arms case. The action was carried out under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Officials confirmed that the property, measuring 7.5 marlas of land under Survey No. 1192 in Kanispora village, was seized following orders of the Special NIA Court in Jammu dated April 30, 2026. The attachment was executed by the District Magistrate of Baramulla.
Shaheen Ahmad Lone, son of late Nazir Ahmad Lone, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, New Delhi, after being arrested in NIA case RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU related to arms smuggling and unlawful activities.
The NIA stated that the attachment is part of its ongoing crackdown on terror financing and illegal arms networks in Jammu & Kashmir. The agency has been intensifying its operations, including raids and property seizures, against individuals linked to such cases.
Authorities emphasized that the move reinforces the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and unlawful activities, ensuring that assets used or acquired through illegal means are confiscated under the law.
