Patna, November 12, 2025: The Election Commission of India has announced the successful conclusion of both phases of the Bihar Assembly elections, which recorded a historic voter turnout of 66.91 percent. The polling was conducted across all constituencies in two phases and remained peaceful, with no major incidents reported.
Officials confirmed that the turnout marks one of the highest in the state’s electoral history, reflecting the enthusiasm and active participation of citizens in shaping Bihar’s democratic future. Women voters, in particular, registered a significant presence, contributing to the record participation.
Extensive security arrangements were put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the elections. Central Armed Police Forces, state police, and election officials worked in close coordination to maintain law and order, safeguard polling stations, and facilitate voter convenience.
The Election Commission commended the people of Bihar for their commitment to democracy and thanked polling personnel, security forces, and civil administration for their tireless efforts. Special appreciation was extended to first-time voters and differently-abled citizens who came forward to exercise their franchise.
Counting of votes is scheduled to take place on November 15, 2025, with results expected to be declared the same day. The Commission reiterated its commitment to transparency, fairness, and the highest standards of electoral integrity.
