Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has invited Japanese companies to expand their investments and strengthen business partnerships in India, highlighting the growing economic relationship between the two countries. He said India offers Japanese businesses opportunities across several sectors as both nations work towards deeper economic cooperation.
Goyal emphasised the importance of increasing Japanese investment in India and encouraged companies to explore new areas of collaboration. He also highlighted the potential for stronger partnerships in manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, innovation and other emerging sectors.
The minister said India’s expanding economy, growing consumer market and improving business environment provide a strong base for Japanese companies looking to expand their operations. He also stressed the need for greater cooperation between businesses from both countries to create new opportunities and strengthen supply chains.
India and Japan have maintained close economic ties, with Japanese companies playing an important role in India’s manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. The government has been seeking to attract more investment from Japan as part of its broader efforts to strengthen domestic production and integrate India more closely with global supply chains.
Goyal said continued engagement between Indian and Japanese businesses would help deepen the partnership and contribute to growth, innovation and job creation in both countries.
