Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) recently concluded by India will open new avenues of growth and opportunity across diverse sectors. Addressing a press interaction, the Minister emphasized that the agreement is designed to benefit not only large industries but also farmers, entrepreneurs, students, women, and innovators.
Goyal highlighted that the FTA will provide farmers with better access to international markets, enabling them to secure fair prices for their produce. He noted that entrepreneurs and startups will gain from reduced trade barriers, simplified procedures, and enhanced opportunities for collaboration with global partners.
The Minister further stated that students and young professionals will benefit from expanded educational and skill development exchanges, while women-led enterprises will receive greater support through inclusive trade policies. Innovators, he added, will find new pathways for research, technology transfer, and global partnerships under the agreement.
According to officials, the FTA is expected to strengthen India’s position in global trade, boost exports, and generate employment opportunities. The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the benefits of trade liberalization reach all sections of society, thereby contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Goyal concluded by saying that the agreement reflects India’s vision of integrating with the global economy while safeguarding national interests and empowering communities at the grassroots level.
