Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the successful commissioning of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (HPCL) Residue Upgradation Facility at the Visakh Refinery in Andhra Pradesh. The facility marks a significant milestone in India’s energy sector, enhancing refining efficiency and supporting the nation’s self-reliance goals.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the project in strengthening India’s refining capacity and reducing dependence on imported fuels. He noted that the advanced technology deployed at the facility will enable the conversion of residue into high-value products, contributing to cleaner energy and sustainable growth.
The Residue Upgradation Facility is designed to maximize the production of petrochemical feedstock and high-quality fuels, aligning with India’s vision of energy security and environmental responsibility. Officials emphasized that the project will also generate employment opportunities and boost industrial development in the region.
