President Droupadi Murmu has embarked on a six-day visit to her home state Odisha from February 2 to 7, 2026. The visit will cover five districts—Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj—where she will attend official programmes, cultural events, and developmental inaugurations.
On February 2, the President arrived in Bhubaneswar in the evening. Elaborate security arrangements have been made with the deployment of 30 platoons of police personnel across the capital city, including senior officers, inspectors, and women constables.
On February 3, President Murmu will visit Maa Biraja Temple in Jajpur to offer prayers. Later in the day, she will attend the 12th Convocation of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, where she is expected to address graduating students and highlight the importance of education and youth empowerment.
On February 4, the President will pay her respects at Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. She will be ceremonially welcomed by Gajapati Maharaja and temple servitors. She will stay overnight in Puri to participate in related programmes.
On February 5, President Murmu will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several projects in Bhubaneswar, including the Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital at the OUAT campus, an Archery Centre, city beautification projects, drainage upgradation works, and CSR initiatives.
On February 6, she will travel to Mayurbhanj district, her native region. During her visit, she will unveil the statue of Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren and interact with students at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Rairangpur, underscoring her commitment to education and tribal empowerment.
On February 7, the President will conclude her engagements in Bhubaneswar before departing from Odisha. Her visit is seen as a significant homecoming, blending cultural, educational, and developmental priorities.
The six-day itinerary reflects President Murmu’s emphasis on heritage preservation, youth development, and regional progress. With temple visits, university convocations, and project inaugurations, the visit is expected to strengthen Odisha’s cultural identity while advancing its developmental agenda.
