Gujarat, March 17: Another Indian‑flagged LPG tanker, MT Nanda Devi, has arrived safely at the Gujarat coast after navigating the high‑risk Strait of Hormuz. The vessel, carrying around 46,000–46,500 metric tonnes of LPG, docked at Vadinar Port, marking the second consecutive day of successful LPG shipments reaching India amid heightened tensions in West Asia.
The safe passage of Nanda Devi follows the arrival of MT Shivalik a day earlier, strengthening India’s energy security at a time of supply concerns. Officials said the tanker transported LPG from Qatar, with the cargo now set for ship‑to‑ship transfer and onward distribution to ease domestic supply pressures.
Authorities credited coordinated efforts between Indian and Iranian naval forces for ensuring the vessel’s secure transit through the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for global energy shipments.
