The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science & Technology, has signed an agreement with Gurugram-based Casey Aviation Pvt. Ltd. for a project titled Boost Electric Jump Take-Off (BE-JTO).
The initiative is part of the India–UK Collaborative R&D Programme and aims to develop hybrid propulsion-based Jump Take-Off technology for unmanned and light aircraft.
Under the agreement, Casey Aviation will collaborate with UK-based ARC Aerosystems Ltd. to design and develop advanced aerial mobility solutions with sustainable propulsion systems.
The project is supported through a conditional grant sanctioned by TDB, focusing on industrial sustainability and clean energy adoption in aviation.
Officials stated that the BE-JTO project has the potential to revolutionize short-distance aviation and urban air mobility, while strengthening India’s international R&D ties in aerospace innovation.
