At least 45 Indian nationals, the majority of them Umrah pilgrims from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana, lost their lives in a tragic bus accident near Madina, Saudi Arabia. The bus, carrying pilgrims from Mecca to Madina, collided with an oil tanker and caught fire.
Officials confirmed that only one passenger survived the accident, while several families across three generations were among the deceased. Victims included men, women, and children, with Karnataka also reporting casualties.
The Telangana government and Indian Embassy in Riyadh are coordinating with Saudi authorities to identify victims and arrange repatriation. Relief measures have been announced for bereaved families.
