Two youths from Rajasthan were killed in a drone strike in Oman on March 13, amid escalating tensions in West Asia. The victims were identified as Vikram Verma from Agloi village in Sikar district and Pappu Singh from Lalpura village in Beawar district.
Officials said the attack was linked to ongoing regional conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. The incident has highlighted the vulnerability of Indian workers employed in conflict-hit zones of the Gulf region.
Relatives of Vikram Verma said he had traveled to Oman on February 23 to work with a construction company on road projects. News of the tragedy reached his family through a co-worker from the same firm.
The bodies of both victims were flown back to Jaipur on March 17 and later transported to their native villages for last rites. The return of the remains was marked by grief and mourning in their communities.
Authorities stressed the need for greater safety assurances for Indian nationals working abroad, especially in volatile areas. The deaths have sparked concern among families in Rajasthan, where many youths seek employment opportunities in Gulf countries.
