Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, November 5, 2025 — Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan praised the transformative impact of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative during his address at the Lakhpati Didi Conference held in Rajnandgaon, calling it a powerful symbol of women-led development and grassroots empowerment.
Highlighting the achievements of self-help group members across the state, the Vice President said the initiative reflects the strength, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of Indian women. “Lakhpati Didi is not just about income—it represents freedom, dignity, and self-confidence,” he remarked.
The conference brought together thousands of women beneficiaries, government officials, and community leaders to celebrate milestones in financial inclusion, skill development, and rural enterprise. Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh were also present at the event.
During his visit, Shri Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Udayachal Multispeciality Eye-Care Institute, constructed at a cost of ₹5 crore, and later attended the valedictory function of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The Vice President emphasized that democracy thrives not only in Parliament but also in Gram Sabhas, Panchayats, and self-help groups, urging continued support for women-led initiatives that drive inclusive growth and social transformation.
