New Delhi, July 1: The increased wage rates under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act have come into effect from today. The revised wages aim to strengthen livelihood security for rural households and ensure timely, transparent payments to workers engaged in public works.
Officials stated that the enhanced rates will provide greater income stability and support rural families in meeting rising costs of living. The move is part of the government’s broader push to expand employment opportunities and improve welfare under the mission.
States and Union Territories have been directed to ensure seamless implementation, with monitoring mechanisms in place to track disbursement and prevent delays. The wage hike is expected to benefit millions of workers across the country.
