Four suspected terrorists were spotted scaling Ramtund Peak in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on August 10, 2026, prompting a joint search operation by the Army, police, and CRPF.
Locals captured video footage of the group late Monday and alerted security forces. Reinforcements were rushed from Udhampur on Tuesday morning, and combing operations are underway across ridgelines, forests, and mountain tracks.
Preliminary inputs suggest the group includes three foreign terrorists and one local. The rugged terrain and dense forests of the Seoj Dhar belt make the area strategically sensitive, often used as a transit route and hideout.
As of now, no direct contact has been established with the suspects, but security forces remain on high alert in Doda and adjoining districts.
