IMD has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of the country over the coming days, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in select regions.
According to the advisory, Northeast states including Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh are likely to witness intense showers, while parts of East and Central India such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh will see moderate rainfall with thunder activity.
Southern states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are also expected to receive scattered heavy rainfall, with warnings issued for fishermen due to rough sea conditions.
Northwest India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, may experience thunderstorms and light rainfall, while heatwave conditions are forecast to persist in Rajasthan and Vidarbha despite scattered showers elsewhere.
The IMD has urged residents, farmers, and local authorities to remain alert, citing possible damage to crops, temporary structures, and power lines due to strong winds and lightning.
