Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome today to discuss the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and review the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–2029.
The talks are expected to strengthen cooperation in trade, defence, clean energy, and technology, while also addressing connectivity and infrastructure under the IMEC framework.
Both leaders will assess progress in bilateral ties, with India–Italy trade reaching USD 16.77 billion in 2025 and Italian FDI in India standing at USD 3.66 billion.
PM Modi will also visit the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome to reaffirm India’s commitment to multilateralism and global food security.
This meeting marks the final leg of Modi’s five-nation tour, underscoring India’s growing diplomatic engagement with Europe amid global geopolitical challenges.
